SAINT JEAN PIED DE PORT – RONCESVALLES 2-3 OKT 2021
DIVERGENT(ABILITY) &. INTEGRATION(ABILITY)
NATASHA:
The Alarm Clock Rings At 6,45h, And I Get Up Quite Excited, As I
Am Really Looking Forward To Soon Being Able To Feel The Camino And To Get Away From
Everyday Life. It Has Been 1 Year Or Even More, Where I Was Sitting In Front Of My
PC From Very Early In The Morning Till Late At Night, Where Literally I Did Nothing
But Use My Brains And Work Hard To Make Everything Succeed. Everything From
Geekiness With The Theory Etc. To The Construction Of The Homepage, To
Setting Up Creative Pictures, Designing EVERYTHING! Yet, No Matter How Wildly
Exciting It All Was, It Has Still Been Very Hard For My Small Body To Sit In
The Same Position And Use Only The Top Of My Body.
Well, We Start Our Day Having No Power In Our Hostel! In The Light Of Our
Mobile Phones We Pack The First Backpack To Take The Hardest Walk Through
The Wild Nature With Whatever It May Offer Us. I Walked The Same Route In February.
And In Snow, And Not Quite To The Top, – So It Will Be Exciting To Find Out What The Day
Is Going To Offer Us. I Am Prepared! I Clearly Remember From Last Time,
How I Felt, When I Arrived In The Evening.
The Morning With Our Italian Friend Went Perfectly Well: We Had Breakfast
And Ate With Great Pleasure All The Delicious And Healthy Food We Had
Bought, – And The Only Thing She Wanted Was Her Strong Coffee, Which We
Were To Conjure Up Without Any Power, – And Her Cake, Which She Had
Brought Herself – Fortunately Enough 🙂 Later On, Rasmus Fixed The Power,
So That Everybody Got Just What They Needed, Before We Started The DAY!
The Sun Was Shining Over The Mountain, And Everything Was So Beautiful.
All Pilgrims Got Started Quietly, And The Cyclists Tried To Get Started Up The Steep Hill,
Which Starts The Hike To A World Without Any Affiliation.
It Did Not Take Long Before We Could Feel The Wind Starting To Talk.
Whatever It Had To Tell Us, It Did Not Take Many Minutes Before
It Screamed And Finally Shouted. Over The Next Hours It Became So Windy That
At Some Point I Was Fighting Just To Keep Standing Still. I Had To Try To Remind
Myself Not To Fight Nature, But To Go In One With It. However, How Can I Walk Up
To A 1,450 M Height With 25 S/M Wind Directly In My Face – And At The Same Time
Try To Go In One With Nature? Here I Had To Keep In Mind, How It Is To Go Up Against
The Current In Daily Life As An Entrepreneur, An Inventor, Or A Manager,
Where Not Many – If At All Someone – Understand Where You Are Going,
Or How? To Go In One With The Storm As An Opponent Reminded Me Very
Much About One Of My Hypotheses – Divergent(Ability). Actually, This Is A
Strength And Requires Some Very Special Capabilities To Be One With The Crowd And To Go
Up Against The Current, And – When The Time Is Right For It, –
To Create A Breakthrough – Timing. Thus, Again, We Must Use Our Integration(Ability)
To Be Able To Interact With The Resistance.
I Struggled Through The Day, As One Thing Was To Walk The First Day Of The Camino,
And The Next Thing Was To Do So In The Storm Force. We Got Through The Day,
Helped Each Other, And The Most Fantastic Thing To Me Was To Acknowledge
How Little “Smashed” I Was Compared To The First Time I Took The Walk, Which
Was Not Even To The Top Or In Stormy Weather. With Gratitude For My Body And
My Mind, And For Arriving To Roncesvalles Without Any Damages, I Wish To
Declare This Day One Of The Toughest Walking Days Of My Life. We Checked
Into The Only Hotel In Town, Toasted To The Most Delicious Pilgrim
Menu, And Went To Bed, – Very Excited To Find Out How Our Bodies Would Be The Day After.
We Very Seldom Sleep In Dormitories, Unless It Is Necessary. To Me There
Is Too Much Noise And Social Life, Compared To The Fact That I Am A Very
Private / Less Social Person Most Of The Time, And Taking Into Consideration
What I Want From My Camino – AND I Am Grateful That I Have The
Opportunity To Do This My Way.
RASMUS:
The Day Would Turn Out To Be Even More Challenging Than Feared. Not Only Should
We – Over 23 Km – Walk Up From 200 To 1,450 M, But Also Face The Fact That The
Last 4 Km Go Down Almost Vertically, And It Really Makes Teddy Bears In The
Very Tired Thigh Muscles! In Addition To The Sharp Rise, We Also Had To Fight
With A Headwind Of A Little More Than Hurricane Strength. The Wind Was So Fierce
That At Times We Could Not Keep The Balance,
But Were Moved Around On The Way.
Fortunately, We Had Booked The Hotel In Roncesvalles In Advance,
So When We, Very Tired, Arrived Just Before Nightfall, We Were
Almost Overwhelmed By The Old Beautiful And Huge Building
Next To The Monastery. The Food Was Fantastic, And You Immediately
Sensed From The Price Level That We Had Crossed The Border To Spain.
Thank You For That – France Is Very EXPENSIVE.
The First Day At The Camino Is A Harsh Joke, And I Believe That
This Is A Day Which Automatically Sorts Those Walkers Out, Who Are Not
Ready To Walk A Camino. We Met Several People Who Had Already Given Up And Wanted To Take
A Bus Or A Taxi To Pamplona. The Camino Is Not For Everyone,
And You Must Be Not Only Physically, But Also Mentally Ready.
In My Eyes These Two Things Are Connected A Little More
Than You Would Think. The Walk Was Tough, But I Enjoyed
Every Step Of It And Look Forward To My Further Journey. ❤️
